Our Philosophy as Organic Growers
We strive to produce high quality, flavorful, and nutrient richfood.
We prefer to work with nature rather than fight against nature. Healthy beneficial insect and microbe populations are our best defense against disease and pest pressures. We nurture the soil organisms with sustainable practices such as cover crops, poly cultures, and natural fertilizers to accomplish this.
We believe in being as energy efficient as we can. We support local businesses for our inputs whenever possible. We believe we are providing a service to our community by making fresh and healthy fruits and vegetables available, often only hours from field to the table.
We welcome those interested in our farming practices to visit us, see how we grow our crops, and share ideas for improvement.
We are committed to the ideals of organic farming and will continue to increase our knowledge necessary to grow even better and more variety of fresh produce in this manner.
We realize that with this management system comes a learning curve. We are doing our best to work out strategies for managing weeds, insects, fertility, diseases,and any other problems that come up. Any questions, comments, or suggestions are always welcome.
